Grandparents Raising Grandchildren NSW (GRG NSW) - represents an alliance of grandparents who have full-time care and responsibility of their grandchildren across New South Wales. It is an initiative of COTA (NSW) which has come about following a decade of research and collaboration with grandparent support groups and community service representatives.

Over time as needs and members have changed, the GRG has transformed to include relative and kinship carers in recognition that many relative and kinship carers are older people.
This website and package was made possible by the Sydney Community Foundation grant in 2005. The donation which made this possible was given by a grandson in remembrance of the grandparents who raised him. COTA NSW is grateful for this initial contribution which enabeld this webstite and our work in this area until 2009.
In 2010, COTA NSW, through funds from the NSW Department of Human Services, Ageing Disability and Home Care, has been able to continue its work in supporting grandparents raising grandchildren through the Grandparent Support Group Project. The funded project commenced in October 2010 and will be completed in January 2012 and will be establishing grandparent support groups across NSW.
